This clinical education session will equip you on the path towards competency in trauma-informed therapy while keeping the self of the therapist and their wellbeing at the forefront. Going beyond the all-too-common workshops that simply define trauma, this session, tested and refined through presentations to counselling associations, non-profits, and group practices across Canada, and applicable to Clinicians, Frontline workers, and Management will aid in:

  • understanding of trauma-informed treatment for individual adolescents and adults along the client experience pathway from first interaction through closure/transition

  • application of Tri-Phasic Model of Trauma to treatment planning

  • experience, and appropriate delivery/modeling of self-regulation tools to stimulate curiousity and implementation for clients and therapists

  • next steps for leaders on systemically “practicing what you preach” and making your organization a leader in organizational culture that people will want to come and stay at long-term
