Chanté Blais,
MA Candidate

Hello, I'm Chanté, a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology student at Yorkville University.

I believe people suffer when fear, trauma, inherited patterns, and external expectations pull them away from a coherent relationship with themselves. Counselling can create the relational safety needed to examine those patterns, reconnect with inner wisdom, and develop ways of living that feel more authentic, intentional, and alive.

That word — coherent — matters to me. It means the many parts of you — emotions, body, history, relationships, values, hopes — can stay in conversation with one another, even when life is uncertain. The patterns that cause us pain usually began as meaningful adaptations. When we meet them with curiosity instead of shame, something loosens: we begin to understand what they've been protecting, and whether they still serve the life you want.

My work is relational, integrative, and person-centred, informed by existential, narrative, attachment-based, and parts-oriented perspectives. Together, we'll slow down and notice what lives underneath the story you've been telling about yourself. Insight matters most to me when it becomes lived change: new choices, new ways of relating, a little more ease in simply being here.

My path here was not a straight line. I studied philosophy, built a career as a programmer, and left it when I could no longer ignore that it wasn't aligned with my purpose. Years of contemplative practice taught me that the analytical mind is a beautiful tool — and a poor master. Both come with me into the counselling room.

If anxiety, grief, conflict, transitions, or questions of identity and meaning have brought you here, I'd be honoured to walk alongside you for a while.
